1. The Artograph LED200 Digital Art Projector My new projector is estimated to arrive on thursday! I’m SO excited! It’s a beauty. This is most definitely the single biggest investment I’ve made towards my art so far. I love working both with and without a projector. The key is making sure the projector is not a crutch but a small part of the process. The paintings I create without projector are more physical and vibrant. The paintings I miss creating (I’ve been without access to a projector for over a year) are more subtle and tonal. With a projector I work only in white over grey gesso and then layer color on in a separate process. This allows the color to become more wild and multifaceted while keeping a very delicate gradation. I’m also excited to do more intimate versions of my past performance piece involving projections of original paintings.
